From Russia…Welcome Nastia Tumash, Alfalfa’s Summer Intern

Graphic design is not and has never been a simple profession for me… design as a complex field that demands constant mental work, higher artistic sense and courage to make something that no one else has ever done before. I believe I could find this attitude toward design in alfalfa studio. Those were Nastia’s opening lines in her internship application letter.

We are excited to welcome Nastia Tumash, alfalfa studio’s design intern for the summer of 2011.

Due to the large amount of summer applicants, the selected candidate needs to stand out above the crowd. The chosen design intern not only has to have interesting work, good training, passion, determination, communication skills, and craftsmanship, but, also it’s great when we get a hint of their own voice and personality through their work.

Poster design

Nastia’s portfolio shows pieces that are both conceptual and well executed. The New Year poster (below), which was created in her spare time to give it as a present to a friend, is breathtaking. We were impressed with the traces of poetry found in her compositions.

Originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia, Nastia is currently working on her master’s degree in graphic design from North Carolina State University. She is the recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship.

Nastia collects magnets and is addicted to cinema and travel. She recently heard someone said: Listen to others, but believe in yourself first. A piece of advise she likes to share with everyone.
