What 3D software do you work with? Actually, everything I do is 100% 2D. That is the answer lettering artist and designer Dado Queiroz gives to his most asked question.Born in 1980 in Curitiba, Brazil, Dado first went to Architecture school, just to drop out one year later to enroll in a Graphic Design program, before moving to Amsterdam in 2011 where he currently lives. Even though he didn’t complete his architecture studies, it’s clear to see how the three-dimensionality of architecture influences his design work.

Queiroz is best known for the 3-D quality he brings to his lettering design. In fact, Ale Paul from Sudtipos has called him “a 3D type magician.”

This Thursday, April 4, Queiroz will be speaking at the Type Directors Club in New York. According to the Type Director’s Club site “in this talk Dado Queiroz offers an honest examination of the development of his lettering design so far. From external influences such as architecture, music and biology, through the love for expression and obsession with forms, all the way to one dollar worth existential observations, many visual techniques are explained in context.”

If you are in New York this week, don’t miss this event. Seating is limited.

Time: ?Thursday, April 4?6:30-8:30 PM
Location: ?TDC Conference Center
347 West 36th Street, Suite 603, ?New York, NY, 10018
