Actually, I saw this fun project years ago and I was fascinated by it. The first thing I thought was “I WANT THIS HORSEY! ” I’m silly like that but honestly who doesn’t want to have this? Eungi Kim submitted this project to the Seoul Cycle Design Competition by designboom. I just stumbled over it again so I wanted to check out if she won the competition. Did she? Unfortunately not, which is a mystery to me.

My hometown Graz, in Austria, has a bicycle culture so that means you have to be very protective of your transportation vehicle. That is, always lock it and take off everything what is removable because otherwise you may find your bicycle pretty much naked in the streets of Graz.

Eungi Kim from Designboom’s website:
‘Horsey’ is an attachable bicycle ornament/accessory which makes one’s bicycle look horsey! The ‘horsey’ package includes wooden ornaments (horsey shape body), metal parts, and screws. The manual is very simple so that anyone can easily arrange it according to one’s needs. Through this ‘horsey’ project I wanted to give a special look to bicycles so that people would care about cycling not only as transportation but also as a lovely pet.
