I am pretty unfamiliar with and lost in the fashion world, but I know and love the works of Valentino.

Valentino dresses (as the title suggests) are my ultimate, personal favorites. Delicate, whimsical, and meticulously embroidered all over with cute icons. The ones from the Pre-Fall 2015 collection remind of me of the dresses worn by the figures in Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss as they are uniquely embellished with stars and golden specks. Valentino never fails to make fashion timid but fun, subtle yet bold, simple and intricate.

Below are a handful of pieces that struck me from the Valentino 2015 and recent 2016 Pre-Fall collection. Take a look and marvel at the details, colors, and styles!

Valentino Pre-Fall 2015

“…floral prints and embroideries inspired by Sandro Botticelli’s La Primavera…peace-and-love vibes…stars, planets, and swirling constellations.”

Valentino Pre-Fall 2016

“Having plumbed the depths of their own Italian heritage and, most recently, explored African themes on their Spring runway, [designers] Chiuri and Piccioli merged west (New York and other bits of Americana) with the east of Japan here.”
