New York has always had a plush art scene. Many exciting artists continue to live and practice in the big apple. One such wonder is Japanese illustrator Yuko Shimizu.
We have all seen her work on Gap T-shirts, Pepsi Cans, Microsoft and Target ads. We have also seen her do covers of Penguin, scholastic, DC Comics and on the pages of NY Times, Time, Rolling Stone, New Yorker and in many other publications over the last decade.
She was chosen as one of “100 Japanese People The World Respects” from Newsweek Japan in 2009.
