Kristen was born and raised in San Francisco. At age 17, she moved to Brooklyn where she majored in Illustration at Pratt Institute. There she realized that she had to stop working on what she thought people liked and focus more on what she really liked.
Her art is a mix between American Folk Art and “Lowbrow” art of the 90’s, always trying to keep the elegance of traditional Japanese paintings. Kristen’s contrast between sex and violence and colors make bizarre but alluring compositions. Her unique style has taken her work to galleries all around the US.
