If you walk into any bookstore today you might, like me, want to buy everything in sight. That probably has a lot to do with Oliver Munday. A graphic and book cover designer at Knopf Double Day, an imprint of Penguin Random House, Munday has designed countless titles including “The Girls” by Emma Cline, “The Underground Railroad” by Colson Whitehead, “The Nix” by Nathan Hill. He also did covers and illustrations for publications like The Atlantic, Time Magazine, And The New York Times.

Working alongside the likes of Chip Kidd and Peter Mendelsund, Oliver is pumping out simple, yet highly recognizable work at an incredible pace. Just take a look at his blog. His work is concept driven and often combines two seemingly unrelated elements that shed light on the true nature of the subject.

Next time you find yourself at Greenlight or The Strand, play a game and try to pick out his covers (hint: they’re all the good ones).
