Unfortunately, clean water is quickly becoming a rarity. We can thank urban and agricultural pollution, industrial contamination, and (often unknowingly) ourselves for this issue. Sadly, it’s a difficult problem to avoid.

Enter, Pratik Ghosh, a design graduate from the Royal College of Art. He is seeking solutions by learning from our greatest teacher, Mother Nature.

Check out his inspiring and equally beautiful project, Drop By Drop.

This incredible creation can filter a glass of water in 12 hours time, is incredibly easy to maintain, and turns into a self-sustaining biosphere when the user is unavailable. Plus it just looks awesome.

Imagine this scaled up? It could have an immeasurable impact in places that lack clean drinking water. Honestly, it has potential to affect the entire planet.

Let’s hope this project paves the way for more sustainable solutions to some of the largest problems humanity has ever faced.
