As the hospitality company Wyndham Worldwide fully transitions into Wyndham Destinations, its visual identity took a bold turn. Transforming what predominantly appeared as corporate as you can get, Siegel+Gale designed the visual identity to look fine, crisp and inspire wanderlust. A consistent usage of white space, natural colors, and a bold logo is a nice minimal approach that seems too familiar, but a recipe for success.

They introduced their logo as a bold, sans-serif font. While “WYNDHAM” sports a lowercase “y” pointing at what looks like a location dot, “DESTINATION” delivers the punchline sitting next to the point. Throughout the brand refresh, the applications also imply the “point a” to “point b” concept, apparent in their printed materials. What stands out the most is their magnificent D framing a bird’s eye view of paradise. What seems to weigh down the light airy design is its slight typographic inconsistencies within the printed material.

Personally, I think the drastic change is a good look. It’s vacation season! Their timing is perfect to lure young tourists and the design invokes that white, clean hotel feeling we all look forward to when we check in our rooms.
