From making many bursts into laughter with comedy movies, Canadian actor Jim Carey has now transitioned to bringing political awareness to the mass. We all know Jim Carrey as the funny Hollywood star; the actor of comedy movies such as The Mask, Dumb and Dumber, and Bruce Almighty to name a few. What many did not know is that he has been sharing his artistic talent weekly. However, this time it is a canvas and through his illustrations that reveal his artistic expressions full of controversies.

Throughout the past years, Jim Carrey has been strong in expressing his political views. To the point where he enraged some of his followers due to his criticism against our current government and president. I strongly believe in freedom of expression and when someone expresses themselves through art, we should embrace that idea. Whether you agree or not with the political view of the person, it’s better to protest or express your political view peacefully through art than through disturbing acts.

For the past years, Jim Carey has been sharing his illustrations and drawings with the public via Twitter. They are pretty decent with some interesting and thought-provoking ones. Not only has he been illustrating but also creating sculptures through different mediums. His satirical and subversive cartoons are full of controversial depictions which all touch base on current issues. His artwork has led him to be featured in some art galleries with solo shows such as Nothing to See Here and This Light Never Goes out which currently being showcased at the Montreal art space Phi Center.

Although many don’t agree with his views, I strongly agree with the way he is expressing himself. Lets not only enjoy his work but also the artwork of other artists who are expressing themselves through a canvas. See below some of his artwork shared on twitter.
