Just a few days after one of the most prestigious film award ceremonies took place we are still talking about it. There were a few surprises but one thing I really enjoyed was watching minorities receive the Oscars trophy for their contribution to film. The highlight of this ceremony was the movie Parasite winning the Best Picture award along with three other awards. Parasite became the first foreign-language movie to win both Oscars, one for the Best Picture and the other for Best Foreign Film. On the other hand, the best short animated film award went to ex NFL player, now film director Matthew A. Cherry for his film Hair Love.

A few years ago Kobe Bryant shows us how winning can be done with anything we put our minds into. Following his steps, Matt Cherry along with Karen Rupert Toliver directed a beautiful film that narrates a story of a man doing his daughter’s hair for the first time. This short film shows a journey of love and compassion. I won’t spoil it too much and rather let you watch it. Promise you’ll love it.
