Most people, at some point, have heard of J. D. Salinger’s book Catcher in the Rye. Its a classic piece of literature that challenges our perspective on innocence, growing up, and sexual exploration. To add, for some reason, Catcher in the Rye always had an attractive cover, my particular favorite, displayed below.
This past July, Print Magazine featured a selection of concepts cover designs for Catcher in the Rye to celebrate its 66th anniversary. Why is this list particularly special? Our intern from 2015, Anita Bartolini, has made the list, her design making second. In my opinion, her design, bold, yet simple with only primary colors, eludes a different segment of the Salinger’s book that is quite original. You can view her full project here on Behance.0
