|Client||The Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre & Broadcasting|
In 2004, Alfalfa Studio designed the Made in NY mark for the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcast. As a mark of distinction awarded to films, TV and theatre productions, it recognizes and celebrates projects produced on location in the City.
The “Made in NY” short film was made to help launch the Made in NY mark.
The city wanted something simple, memorable, and timeless, which were the qualities that drove the design of the “Made in NY” mark. As a kind of “seal of quality” from the City, we created a brand that every New Yorker would identify with and take pride in.
A love-letter to both filmmaking and New York City, “Made in NY—the film” is a collage of movie titles and city scenes from films shot in New York. It takes chronological measure of the city’s life on the screen, cataloging some 50 films from 1916 to the present.
