Weren’t we all attached to the Disney characters as little kids growing up. We all grew up watching Disney cartoons and catching some sort of affections towards these characters. We enjoyed their shows and some kids even look up to these Disney characters. In my case, I always enjoyed watching goofy movies but who would’ve thought that he was going to grow at the same pace as me. Apparently goofy is old enough that he started smoking weed. Hey…there’s nothing wrong with that but all these Disney characters have changed according to José Rodolfo Loaiza Ontiveros.
In the exhibition Profanity by José Rodolfo Loaiza Ontiveros, one can see how most of these Disney characters have rebelled. Ontiveros portrays these beloved characters acting freely just like what we see in the society we live in. They are caught doing acts they normally shouldn’t be doing. Some topics touched in this exhibition are vandalism, same-sex marriage, drugs and much more. This is quite an interesting and creative exhibition.
If you happen to be in the city of Los Angeles from August 7 – 30, 2015, make sure to visit his exhibition, in this case being called Wonder Pop. José Rodolfo Loaiza Ontiveros did an exceptional job portraying the freedom in the society that we presently live in through Disney characters.
