We continue working on ideas for Alfalfa New York upcoming collection 7 Days of the Week. This is an interesting challenge. How do you capture the essence of one day of the week using only typography or lettering and color as your main design element?
For Tuesday, we invited our friends at MyOrgangeBox to contribute.
We are excited about the direction they are taking it!
“Tuesday comes from the old English god of war: TIW or Tyr. Our Tuesday will be heavily bearded with mid-evil knights and armor sticking through, but also Bosch, tongue and cheek like.” Says Lucie Kim, MyORB founder.

I’m curious about what comes to mind when you think of Tuesday. For me, what I think of first is the proverb my grandmother used to say when I was a kid: “En martes, ni te cases ni te embarques,” meaning, “On Tuesday, neither get married nor begin a journey.” For Spanish-speakers, the 13th of the month is considered unlucky if it falls on Tuesday, instead of Friday.
Days of the week are, in a strange way, similar to color in that everyone has his or her own personal relationship with them. Have you thought about it? What are your associations with Tuesdays? What would you do if you were to create a design for Tuesday?
Stay tuned to see where this concept evolves.
