Proper presentation of food is always an important aspect of mealtimes, especially when you are dealing with a sandwich.

Chicago design student, Kelly Pratt, certainly agrees: “Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE food, especially sandwiches. To me, making a good sandwich is an art form. And when they come with a pickle it’s just the best.”

She obviously values the finesse that is required to make a delicious and aesthetically pleasing sandwich, so she decided to do a project that documented the ideal sandwich before it was made. Her “Stately Sandwiches” represent 12 different states; among them is the “New York Reuben”, the “California Powerhouse”, and the “Massachusetts Fluffernutter” (how that became Pratt’s idea of the state sandwich, I don’t know). These photos look good enough to eat, especially around lunch time. They also show that art can come out of anything, even a love of (or obsession with) the perfect sandwich.
