Our alphabet is, by nature, natural. It has changed over time, it has evolved. But its shapes still come from the way our hands use writing tools. They are photographs of natural movements.

Leaves, on the other hand, are symbols of nature. When we look at their subtle hues, their sublime vein pattern, their floating down gently in the wind, we think of life, its fragility and all its beauty.

It is no wonder that combining these two can only lead to a truly marvelous result. No sooner said than done, graphic designer Twan van Keulen made an alphabet by precisely cutting letters out of leaves, both positive and negative versions. He then scanned them at 1200 dpi without adding any further processing.
