We have all been taught in one point that patience is a virtue, but it is people like Korea based artist Yoo Hyun that are clear examples of this saying. Precision and a being a master with an x-acto knife is all that Hyun needs in order to compose his paper cut portraits. Hyun has managed to create a series of paper cut portraits of artist such as Picasso, Marilyn monroe and Frida khalo by using positive and negative space.

Besides using an x-acto knife and large paper, Hyun uses household tweezers to have a precise cutting on his outstanding portraits. He makes a noticeable zig zag pattern on every portrait piece creating a hyper-realistic image. A contrast in the width of the cut lines is applied to his technique. Hyun is able to add different effects as the background by creating different types of compositions to sit behind the paper-cut artwork. The following are a few of Yoo Hyun papercut portraits.
