President Barack Obama declared June Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month on June 1, 2009. To celebrate a community that, despite being suppressed for so long, has given so much love, creativity, and joy to the world, we are proud to present “The LGBTQAlphabet.”

Made with Equinox and The LGBT Community Center, “The LGBTQAlphabet” beautifully combines dance, film and slam poetry to celebrate the diversity within the community. The narration was done by real people, and spoken in their own words. As one goes through the film we realize how difficult is to label ourselves as humans. Clearly, there are not enough labels to describe the endless possibilities of being.

The campaign was conceived by Wieden + Kennedy New York, choreographed by Los Angeles-based Andrew Winghart and directed by Jordan Bahat. “It’s critically important to our culture that we boldly acknowledge and celebrate the ways in which each of us is unique.” Says Bahat, “One of the ways we can do that is through representation in creative projects like this film.”

The film went live on Equinox’s social channels this week and has gone viral since with more than 100K views in only three days. To make it easier to share, they are planning short versions that spell out words like “Love” and “Pride.”

So, watch it, enjoy it, and share it. I’m sure you will learn new words like I did. Below are the pairs of letters and words. Which one describes you? And, yes, you can be more than one.
