It’s not a surprise to see the different franchise phases it took for some K-league teams to become who they are. Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, for example, has had 4 different names throughout their franchise history – Wansan Puma FC, Chonbuk Buffalo, Jeonbuk Dinos, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC.

In the midst of South Korea bidding for the 2002 World Cup, Hyundai Motors Company purchased the Jeonbunk based team. Since then, the elements in the badge have been consistent excluding the badge changing a few times. Throughout the years the color green has been the main color of the team and a representative color of the Jeonbuk area, a green friendly nature. The recent emblem is conformed of an existing non-winged bronze sword. The logo also emphasizes the name that crosses in the middle of the shield. The iconic phoenix continues to be the main focus of the badge throughout the year although the hierarchy tends to change. At the bottom of the shield V-shaped wraps the shield expressing the sense that the team and the fans will continue to win together. Gaining its success at the start of the 21st century, Jeonbuk Hyundai Football Team might end up being the new face of the K league.
