The last team to ever witness Carlos Valderrama put on a jersey in an official game is the Colorado Rapids. The Denver based franchise also happens to be one of the 10 charter clubs that founded the MLS. With its home grounds being 5,200 feet above sea level the Rapids fan witness their first MLS Cup in 2013. Owned by the Kroenke Sports & Entertainment group, the franchise has seen their branding completely change three times with the recent one being in 2014.

Through the use of its color palette, Rapid’s identity reflects the company lineage with its family sporting teams such as the LA Rams, Denver Nuggets, and Denver Avalanche. With the burgundy being the main color used in all KSE teams (Kroenke Sports & Entertainment) their logo features a unique trademarked shield design. Inside the shield is a stylized version of the rocky colorado mountains. Laying centered in front of the mountains is a stylized one-of-a-kind version of a traditional soccer ball. The crest is completed by a re-imagined Colorado Rapids wordmark along with the number 96 which is the year of the first MLS season.
