Last week the first issue of Discontent Magazine was delivered to my door. What first caught my eye from this 172-page volume was its beautifully designed cover by Rami Kanso Designs, which features a beautiful collage treatment of different photos covering the magazine’s contents. On its inside the magazine features reportage, art, and photographic essays from Palestine, Lebanon, and Egypt.

The beautifully designed magazine pays homage to the revolutionary magazines of 1970s Palestine and Lebanon. Filled with striking work of arts and photography the magazine cover stories of the past and present of the people living in Palestine, Lebanon, and Egypt. Published in London, the magazine includes contributions from Abbas Momani, Amanda Dufour, Farah Chamma, George Azar, Hala Alyan, Hind Shoufani, Maria Kassab, Mariam Barghouti, Marwan Tahtah, Naji Bakhti, Nur Turkmani, Raeda Taha, Rasha Younes, Samaa Abu Sharar, Walid Nehme.

The magazine offers a window into the experiences and stories of people that are often neglected from mainstream media coverage. It offers another side of the narrative that’s grounded in the personal experiences of the real people victims of social injustice and war.

You can buy the first and second issues of Discontent on their website.
