There are a couple of words popping up everywhere these days: cryptocurrency and non-fungible tokens (NFT). Although I’m not intimate familiar with them, I know that its landscape is dominated by men. Thought Matter stated that men comprise more than two-thirds of the overall crypto market as well as holding more than 80% of NFT wealth.

Today’s post focuses on an identity system and website for World of Women, an NFT project that has released 10,000 colorful and diverse portraits of women. The project was co-founded by artist Yam Karkai in an effort to address the gender imbalance that dominates the cryptocurrency and NFT market.

The visual identity uses WOW, the initiative’s initials. The branding system uses the letter ‘O’ as a window to showcase visual content — in this case, the ‘O’ showcases portraits of the community. The ‘Ws’ were drawn in a distinctive style reminiscent of flowers.

The bold color palette, distinctive look, and dynamic nature of the brand created by Thought Matter has helped World of Women increase public awareness and facilitated its continued growth.
